What is RapidArch?
-
RapidArch is LGM's online architectural model ordering system. RapidArch makes it easy for you to get a top-quality architectural model completely online.
How do I register an account with RapidArch?
-
On the left side of this screen, click Projects. If you do not have an account already, you will be directed to the Registration page. Registration takes about 5 minutes.
How do I start a project?
-
First, you must Register with RapidArch. Once you have created an account, you can create a New Project. You will need to name the project, and give it an accurate start and end date, and choose the product type. The start date should be the day you are able to release files. The end date should be at least one day before your deadline.
How do I know which product I need?
-
This depends on what your requirements are: level of detail, scale, site extents, etc. See our rapidArch products page for a description of each RapidArch product. If none of these products meet your needs, check out www.lgmmodel.com for many other modeling solutions.
How do I know if my project qualifies for a RapidArch model?
-
Your project can be represented with a RapidArch model if it can be scaled to fit inside a 10"x14"x6" box.
What is the difference between a RapidArch model and a LGM Concept model?
-
RapidArch models and LGM concept models are similar in that they are both 3D printed from CAD data. The difference is that a RapidArch model can fit into a 10" x 14" x 6" build envelope when scaled appropriately. If you need a larger model than this, please see this link.
What do I do if I need a model bigger than 10" x 14"?
-
The size of the 3D printers we use is 10" x 14". We can put multiple pieces together and we are happy to provide you with a quote through the RapidArch website for models up to four pieces. (In the 20" x 28" range) The seams between the sections are visible. If you need a larger model we can provide that also. LGM is a full architectural model shop. RapidArch is only one of our products. You can browse to www.lgmmodel.com or click on the LGM links on the left to see some of our other products. The LGM site has a form for custom quotation on a variety of other products. Please see www.lgmmodel.com/products
Can you make the model faster?
-
Yes, we often can. Some of the variables that affect turn around are:
Your data - 2D or 3D
Your data - How mature the design is or how complete the drawings are
Your schedule - How quickly your team can comment and approve the 3D proof. If you supply 3D data we can eliminate the 3D proof which usually saves a day.
Our schedule - We are typically busy near the very end and beginning of each month working on models for design review meetings.
Our schedule - If you know your need date but do not have plans done yet, it is very helpful to schedule your job in. The RapidArch online project manager allows you to set a start date and end date.
How do I upload files?
-
Once you have created a project, you can browse for and upload files directly to your project page. If you have trouble uploading files this way, you can email them to plans@rapidarch.com. If you are unable to submit files this way, contact us at help@rapidarch.com.
Can you work from Sketchup files?
-
Yes, please send us the native .skp file. We will review the file and discuss options with you.
Can you work from PDF's?
-
We love PDF for proofing and communication and are happy to quote from PDF. However, for model production it is not the most efficient format. We need access to the actual lines, layers, and geometry that you have drawn. PDF abstracts this information. We very much prefer to have a high level CAD format like DWG.
What file types can I submit?
-
RapidArch can accept almost all CAD file formats. We commonly accept .dwg, .dxf, .rvt, .skp, .fmz, .3ds, .stl, .wrl, .vrml, .3dm, and .obj. We are experts at CAD file conversion, do not hesitate to send us whatever file format you are working with.
Can you work from hand drawn files?
-
Yes, you are welcome to send us prints but we suggest that you ask your local repro house to do a "bilevel" scan and email us the TIFF file. JPG's are fine also.
Who can I contact for help?
-
If you need any assistance or have any questions, please feel free to contact us.

Are discounts available for mulitiple copies of a model?
-
Yes, additional copies of your original model are available for discounted prices. Click Here for RapidArch pricing info.
Can you ship to a third party?
-
Yes, we can ship your Rapid Arch model anywhere in the world. If you require "private label" branding on your models, we are happy to provide those services as well.
The building must be less than 8,000 square feet to qualify for flat-rate RapidArch pricing.
If elements of the design are not specified, RapidArch will attempt to use the best judgment possible.
Flat-rate prices include one proofing cycle, which allows one set of changes; RapidArch will adjust the model according to call-outs and reproof. Requested changes that were not on the original submitted data set are billable by the hour in addition to flat-rate price. RapidArch interpretations and errors are not billable. Any further changes after the first proofing cycle are billable by the hour and additional proofing cycles cost $250 each.
By proceeding with the ordering of a RapidArch model, the client agrees to the Terms and Conditions provided by RapidArch's parent company, LGM.
